CareGiver is a shared activity feed that helps families coordinate care for an aging parent. This page explains what information the app collects and how it's used.
This is a placeholder, not the final policy. The sections below reflect what CareGiver actually does based on its feature set, but a few technical details are marked like this because they depend on how the app is built (storage provider, exact retention behavior, etc.) — fill those in, or send them to me, before this goes live or gets submitted to Google Play.
1 Information we collect
Account information — your email address, used to sign you in and identify you within a family circle.
Content you log — caregiving actions you record (calls, doctor visits, groceries, bills paid), coverage requests, and appreciation "hearts" you send.
Circle membership — which family circle(s) you belong to, and who else is in them.
[Confirm: any device/technical data collected, e.g. push notification tokens for digest/coverage-request alerts?]
2 How we use it
To show your circle a shared feed of caregiving activity.
To generate the weekly digest recap.
To deliver coverage requests and appreciation hearts to the right circle members.
To keep your account secure and restore your session when you reopen the app.
We do not use your content to train models, and we do not use it for advertising.
3 Visibility within your circle
CareGiver is built around shared visibility, so it's worth being explicit about who sees what: anything you log — an action, a coverage request, a heart — is visible to every member of the same family circle. It is not private between you and the app; it is private to your circle only, not to the public or to other CareGiver users outside it.
4 Where it's stored
[Confirm storage provider — e.g. Supabase, as used for HouseLedger, or a different backend]. Structured data (circles, logged actions, coverage requests) is stored in a database; [confirm if CareGiver stores photos/attachments — HouseLedger does, unclear if CareGiver does]. All traffic between the app and storage is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Data is scoped so that only members of a given circle can access that circle's activity.
5 Sharing with others
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. [Confirm the only outside party involved — likely just the storage/hosting provider, as with HouseLedger], acting solely as a hosting provider and not using your data for its own purposes.
6 Your choices & deletion
Leave a circle — [confirm: does leaving remove your logged history from the shared feed, or does it stay visible to the circle?]
Delete a logged action — [confirm whether users can delete individual entries after logging them]
Delete your account — [confirm: permanently deletes your account and removes/anonymizes your history — describe actual behavior]
7 Children's privacy
CareGiver is intended for adult family members coordinating care for a parent, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
8 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
