HouseLedger Privacy Policy

Information we collect

The app collects only what it needs to keep your home record:

• Account information — your email address, used to sign you in and identify your account.
• Content you create — the houses, rooms, and systems you set up, and everything you log against them: photos, notes, documents (permits, warranties, manuals, invoices), contractor details, and maintenance reminders.
• Basic technical data — standard session information needed to keep you securely signed in.

How we use it

Your information is used strictly to run the app for you:

• To store and display your home's room-by-room history back to you.
• To let you export a copy of a house's record, or a transfer file for a new owner.
• To keep your account secure and restore your session when you reopen the app.

We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.

Where it's stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database and file storage provider. Structured data (houses, rooms, contractors, reminders) lives in a Postgres database; photos and documents live in Supabase's file storage. All traffic between the app and this storage is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

Every row and file is scoped to your account by database-level access rules — your data is not visible to other users of the app.

Sharing with others

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. The only outside party involved is Supabase, acting solely as our hosting and storage provider — it doesn't use your data for its own purposes.

Your choices & deletion

You're in control of your data at every level, directly in the app:

• Export — from Settings, export a full record of any house, or a transfer file to hand off to a new owner, at any time.
• Delete a house — permanently removes that house and everything logged under it, including uploaded files.
• Delete your account — permanently deletes your account and every house you've created, with no need to contact anyone. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Deleting a house, or your account, removes the associated data immediately — including uploaded photos and documents — rather than placing it in a pending queue.

Security

Connections between the app and our storage provider are encrypted in transit. Access to your data is enforced at the database level, so a request can only ever read or change data belonging to the signed-in account making it.

Children's privacy

HouseLedger is intended for homeowners and builders, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
